NW, Atlanta GA 30305 Hosts: Bill and Michele Voss The Scriptural Reasoning Program – Justice in Our Daily Lives: For this year’s topic we will focus on what our scriptures offer in the way of guidance for the personal practice of justice in our world today. We will concentrate on justice and our role in the practice of justice in our daily lives. What do we learn from our scriptures that helps us treat justly our family members, friends, and neighbors? What should we do in response to events of apparent injustices of racial, ethnic or religious discrimination in our communities? (Questions regarding international justice will be reserved for another day and time.) We will open with introductions of relevant texts by leaders from the Jewish, Christian, Muslim and Baha’i traditions. In small groups representative of the diverse AILF religious traditions we will read and discuss the texts. Members will share how they understand the readings. Most importantly, participants will share their personal experiences related to the topic of justice in their day to day lives. Rabbi Michael Bernstein, Bassem Fakhoury, and Iraj Khodadoost are assisting me in selection of texts from our respective traditions. Together we will introduce our selections before the small group discussions. Pre-registration is required for this event on or before Friday, April 10. There is no charge for attending this event. Please e-mail or phone (603-387-8113) if you have any questions regarding this event. Invite your friends and neighbors to join us for another fine afternoon together.
