What: Cognitively-Based Compassion Training:Implications for Mind, Body, and Heart Where: 1886 North Decatur Road, N.E., Atlanta, Georgia 30307 When: Sunday, November 8, from 3 to 5 pm @ Emory Presbyterian Church - EmoryPresbyterian.org Speakers: Carol Beck and Timothy HarrisonAssistant Directors of the Emory-Tibet Partnership Cognitively-Based Compassion Training (CBCT) is based on Tibetan Buddhist Lo Jong, or mind-training practices. It was developed at Emory University as a research tool to examine the impact of compassion meditation on the mind and body. CBCT techniques are consistent with a modern understanding of how the mind and body work together. Anyone can practice them, regardless of whether they follow a faith tradition or not. This event is free and open to the public.
