We Honor The Spiritual Legacy Of
Tayyibah Taylor
With The Establishment Of
The Tayyibah Taylor World Pilgrims Scholarship Fund
Tayyibah Taylor stood strong as a visionary of peace in this world. She strongly believed in the elevated capacity of all human beings. She was sure that God created our minds and intellect to be in control of our egos and desires; and that with the proper intentions and discipline, we have what it takes as a community to work out differences and get along as a human family. She believed in the possibility of world peace.
During her life, Tayyibah expressed these beliefs as she contributed to humanity in various ways. Many came to know of her through interactions and travels with World Pilgrims. She attended many interfaith journeys and many were touched by simply knowing her outward and inner beauty.
In 2000, she co-founded AZIZAH Magazine, a magazine for Muslim women, as a groundbreaking vehicle to share the stories, lifestyle and thoughts of Muslim women in America. Through the pages of AZIZAH, she profiled hundreds of Muslim women who are positive contributors to society while also allowing people of other faiths a glimpse into the minds and hearts of these women. Through her work, she helped to break down stereotypes and misconceptions about Muslims and build bridges in faith communities and beyond.
Tayyibah was a national and international speaker. She often was sought out to speak about the Muslim faith. She visited 40 countries, spanning 6 continents uplifting communities through her powerful words and work. She was the mother of five children whom she nurtured and loved dearly. Tayyibah leaves a spiritual legacy to treasure and illumine the journey.
We seek to honor Tayyibah's life by providing scholarships for interfaith journeys to worthy recipients.
