Father Jeffery OttReverend Jeffery Ott, O.P., is a friar of the Order of Preachers serving as Pastor of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, the first African American Catholic Church in Atlanta now in its centennial year. Prior to Lourdes, Fr. Jeffery served as University Chaplain at his Alma mater Xavier University of Louisiana in New Orleans his hometown.
Father Jeffery is also Promoter of Social Justice and Peace for the Southern Dominican Province. In 2002, Father Ott received the Master of Arts in Theology and the Master of Divinity from Aquinas Institute of Theology in St. Louis, Missouri. Ordained a priest at St. Matthew’s Church in San Antonio May 2002, Father Jeffery served as campus minister at the University of Dallas (Irving, TX). Before joining the Dominicans, Father Jeffery, worked as Director for Community Collaboration at the Columbia Business School, New York City. He loves music, singing, speaks Spanish fluently, and passionately preaches with a song in his heart if not on his lips. |
